What is an interactive digital magazine?
An interactive digital magazine is a type of digital publication thats created and distributed electronically, typically accessible via computers, tablets, and smartphones. Similar to traditional print magazines, digital magazines can feature articles, images, and advertisements, but they are optimised for viewing on screens. One advantage of interactive digital magazines is the ability to incorporate interactivity, for example embedded videos, hyperlinks, slideshows, animations and even interactive forms to enhance the reading experience.
How do I create a good interactive digital magazine?
Creating a well-structured interactive digital magazine is easier said than done. A digital magazine is different from print in that it allows for omnidirectional navigation and dynamic, interactive content. A well-designed digital magazine often favours visuals, clear structure and a good balance between static and dynamic content. To create a high-quality digital magazine, keep the following into account:
- Outline your content before designing pages in detail.
- Provide a table of contents for quick navigation.
- Use high resolution media, for example photography, video and audio.
- Ensure your magazine is optimised for multiple devices and browsers.
- Add scroll animations, mouse effects and transitions to capture the reader’s attention.

How do I share my interactive digital magazine on my website?
We provide the option to embed full publications as well as single pages within any HTML document (including your website). In the dashboard, you’ll find multiple settings to configure how your embed will behave, for example when screens are resized. Can I also use Maglr to create other digital publications, for example annual reports, white papers, brochures, interactive infographics or presentations?
We built Maglr to be incredibly versatile. We’ve seen a lot of succes with the transformation of print formats to digital such as magazines, white papers, brochures, annual reports and infographics. Besides traditional formats, we also promote using Maglr for interactive web content in general, for example landing pages, scrollytelling pages, feature highlights, presentations, micro-sites and snackable content.
Is it possible to download or export my online publication?
Maglr does offer the option to download your interactive digital magazine as a PDF. Do keep in mind that a PDF is a static document and it will be compromised of screenshots of your publication. That means that added animations and interactive elements will no longer work. Click here for more information on how to download your publication as a PDF.
Additionally, if you have an annual license we allow the user to download their projects in a .zip file. This will include all assets and effects and will, when hosted, function as regular HTML and JavaScript. Click here to read more about downloading your publications as a .zip file.
What does no-code mean?
Maglr is a no-code content creation platform, but what does that entail? It’s in the name: no-code. For content to become dynamic, it needs to live on the web. Normally, we would need webdevelopers to design and build our pages which can take time and creates a dependency on other parties. Maglr is a system in which such pages can be built without writing code while enjoying the similarities of other design software. That means that you will no longer need any coding knowledge to create interactive web pages and digital publications.
